Nazdar,

nevedel by mi niekto poradit cenovo dostupny mikrofon ktory by mal byt vyuzity v DIY projekte na nahravanie a rozpoznavanie vtacich spevov ?

Čím větší objem místnosti a čím lépe zatlumena, tím nižší bude kritický kmitočet a naopak.
Ak ma nahravka kvalitnu basgitaru, mozem taktiez realne ocakavat tych 40Hz?
3.v pripade malej miestnosti(5x5x2.5m),neutlmenej - dalsia deformacia.
4. v pripade ze by som z tej bedne pocul 80Hz-140Hz v tolerancii 6dB,vyriesila by cely problem dolnopriepustna vyhybka so strmostou 24,resp 48dB/oct?
7. preto,ma v hi-fi & hi-ende opodstatnenie vela bedni,resp. subwoofer?

vdaka za vysvetlenie

The water content of leaves, their thickness, their density and other properties can now be determined without even having to touch them. A team of researchers from the CSIC Institute of Acoustics and the Agri-Food Research and Technology Centre (CITA) of Aragón has just presented an innovative technique that enables plant leaves to be studied using ultrasound in a quick, simple and non-invasive fashion.

Tomas E. Gómez, one of the authors of the study and researcher at the CSIC Institute of Acoustics, where a technique has been developed to analyse these parts of plants without touching them, explains that "The method involves establishing a silent dialogue with plant leaves, questioning them and listening to what they say."

The research, recently published in the journal, Applied Physics Letters, demonstrates that some properties of leaves such as thickness, density or compressibility can be determined with this method.

"The voice of the leaves itself is what gives us information about their status and their properties, all in an innocuous and silent way since communication is established by ultrasound, with above-audible frequencies," the scientist indicates.

The technique involves radiating the leaves with broadband ultrasonic pulses (between 0.2 and 2 megahertz), which are emitted through the air from portable devices. In doing so, the leaves start to vibrate and an ultrasonic sensor very similar to the transmitter detects the waves. The signal is then digitalised and the researchers analyse the resonance range, which enables the characteristics of the leaves to be assessed.

The entire process is done in a way that is non-intrusive to the plant. Until now, coupling fluids have been used between the ultrasound transmitter and the material being studied, as is in the case in medicine, for example, when gels or oils are applied to perform an ultrasound.

Listening to leaf moisture

Eustaquio Gil-Pelegrín, co-author of the study and researcher at the Forestry Resources Unit of the Agri-Food Research and Technology Centre (CITA) in Aragón, which has also taken part in the research, explains that "With this method we can also directly estimate, without contact or interference, the water potential of leaves very accurately."

Information about water content enables us to analyse the loss of turgor in the leaves and the internal morphology of their cell layers, which in turn makes it possible to assess the level of development and to see how they are influenced by environmental factors. Research on the status and water potential of plants helps to diagnose the situation of agricultural and natural systems.

Gil-Pelegrin emphasises the effectiveness of the technique, "even to detect critical moments for plants, such as stomatal closure." Gas and liquid exchange takes places through these pores on the surface of the leaf, and [stomata] opening is determined by factors such as light, CO2 concentration and water availability. For example, when there is a drought the stomata close.

Scientists have successfully applied the ultrasound method to the study of perennial leaves (Prunus laurocerasus and Ligustrum lucidum) and deciduous leaves (Populus x euroamericana and Platanus x hispanica).

The team also took cuttings of some leaves to ascertain water loss over time, and they observed variations in leaf resonance and even water mass loss as little as 1%. The details of this line of research will soon be published in the Journal of Experimental Botany.

ScienceDaily (Feb. 24, 2010)

Physicists have taken major step forward in the development of practical phonon lasers, which emit sound in much the same way that optical lasers emit light. The development should lead to new, high-resolution imaging devices and medical applications. Just as optical lasers have been incorporated into countless, ubiquitous devices, a phonon laser is likely to be critical to a host of as yet unimaginable applications.
Two separate research groups, one located in the US and the other in the UK, are reporting dramatic advances in the development of phonon lasers in the current issue of Physical Review Letters. The papers are highlighted with a Viewpoint by Jacob Khurgin of Johns Hopkins University in the February 22 issue of Physics.

Light and sound are similar in various ways: they both can be thought of in terms of waves, and they both come in quantum mechanical units (photons in the case of light, and phonons in the case of sound). In addition, both light and sound can be produced as random collections of quanta (consider the light emitted by a light bulb) or orderly waves that travel in coordinated fashion (as is the case for laser light). Many physicists believed that the parallels imply that lasers should be as feasible with sound as they are with light. While low frequency sound in the range that humans can hear (up to 20 kilohertz) is easy to produce in either a random or orderly fashion, things get more difficult at the terahertz (trillions of hertz) frequencies that are the regime of potential phonon laser applications. The problem stems from the fact that sound travels much slower than light, which in turn means that the wavelength of sound is much shorter than light at a given frequency. Instead of resulting in orderly, coherent phonon lasers, miniscule structures that can produce terahertz sound tend to emit phonons randomly.

Researchers at Caltech have overcome the problem by assembling a pair of microscopic cavities that only permit specific frequencies of phonons to be emitted. They can also tune the system to emit phonons of different frequencies by changing the relative separation of the microcavities.

The group from the UK's University of Nottingham took a different approach. They built their device out of electrons moving through a series of structures known as quantum wells. As an electron hops from one quantum well to the next, it produces a phonon. So far, the Nottingham group has not demonstrated a true phonon lasing, but their system amplifies high-frequency sound in a way that suggests it could be it a key component in future phonon laser designs.

Regardless of the approach, the recent developments are landmark breakthroughs on the route to practical phonon lasers. Phonon lasers would have to go a long way to match the utility of their optical cousins, but the many applications that physicists have in mind already, including medical imaging, high precision measurement devices, and high-energy focused sound, suggest that sound-based lasers may have a future nearly as bright as light lasers.

The effect was achieved through use of the Mac based program MetaSynth.[1] This program allows the user to insert a digital image as the spectrogram. MetaSynth will then convert the spectrogram to digital sound and "play" the picture. According to an article on the website Wired News, photographs run through the program tend to produce a "discordant, metallic screeching".

dole trosicku bordelik a na pouzitie delete vraj nemam pravo. nevadi, snad mi to odpustite. dole pod tou adresou su dalsie submisny (mala byt jedna - ale akosi ma volajake nove ficurky prekvapili)

ale naspak k prenosu zvuku do stredneho ucha a tuto konkretne do mozgu...

The following steps describe how the inner ear translates vibrations into electrical impulses:

* Vibrations from the ossicles are passed through the 'oval window' (the entrance to the inner ear) and produce pressure waves in the fluid in the cochlea.

* The pressure waves stimulate the sensory hairs (technically known as stereocilia) attached to the auditory hair cells in the organ of Corti. Stereocilia can be thought of as keys on a piano, each one playing a slightly different 'note'.

* When one of the stereocilia is 'played', a chemical transaction takes place: potassium ions (K+) and calcium ions (Ca2+) move into the attached auditory hair cell.

* The movement of ions generates an electrical current.

* This electrical current activates the release of a chemical called a neurotransmitter across the gap (known as a synapse) between the hair cell and the adjacent auditory nerve cell.

* The auditory nerve cell responds to the neurotransmitter released by the hair cell and sets up an electrical impulse which is transmitted along its nerve fibre to the brain, and we perceive sound.
