http://web.ceu.hu/nation/theses/durgun0304.pdf At the first sight it seems paradoxical to employ Nietzsche’s philosophy in formulation of national ideals because his account is incompatible with nationalism. He attacks the spirituality of values, which is rooted in Judea-Christian morality. This traditional morality contributes to the formation of the mass movement, which he termed as the ‘herd morality’ and petite nation-state politics in Europe. The herd morality is the manifestation of a ‘resentful state of mind’ that always desires to bring down ‘the powerful’. |
