Rewards and Frustrations of Fieldwork: Methodological Issues Faced in the Study of Roma, Gypsies, and Travelers Romani Studies invites submissions of papers focusing on Roma, Gypsies, and Travellers related to questions of fieldwork, methodology, research methods, and/or ethics. Topics may include, but are not limited to: issues relating to problems, experiences, and successes in fieldwork implementation of various methods (use of focus groups, interviews, participant-observation, quantitative methods, etc.) ethical dilemmas and questions of power speaking for the “other” tensions between policy and the theoretical, or theory and practice problems of translation and language defining ‘home’ and the ‘field’ questions of trust and access representation conducting an ethnography of those following a travellinway of life There is no deadline, as we will be publishing this themed paper series over a number of issues of Romani Studies. Submissions are invited in the form of full research papers, which should follow the guidelines for contributors (www.romanistudies.org). All submissions will be assessed by peer-reviewers. Romani Studies is part of the Project MUSE distribution system for electronic journals and is available at over 900 university libraries around the world.
