This small US business has just launched the AeroVest, a 57g inflatable jacket that won’t keep you afloat but will keep you warm at the campsite using metalized polyethylene. The silver inside is described to reflect back 90% of your body heat and the orange outside metal layer blocks the wind and rain (you can also wear the vest inside out with no decrease in function). The vest incorporates 18 air pockets which you can blow up creating a thermal barrier, helping to keep the heat in and the cold out. Good as an emergency layer to throw in your pack a bit like the popular Blizzard Jacket, but not durable enough to blow up and wear everyday.
