Toto je celkom šupa článok ktorý naznačuje že SARS-COV-2 mohol vzniknúť rekombináciou vírusov netopierov a pásovcov.

som si tam neodpustil aj menší comment pod článok:

In the paper "Pneumonia outbreak associated with a new coronavirus of probable bat origin" peer-reviewed & published in Nature, Zhou et al. explicitely state "no evidence for recombination events was detected in the genome of 2019-nCov".

Unfortunately, Zhou et al. provide very little information about methods which lead them to utter such strong statement less then a month after the virus was officially discovered by authorities.

In Your article, You demonstrate the contrary. If proven right, Your discovery would indicate that Zhou et al. published misleading information which managed to pass through all stages of Nature's peer-reviewing process. That's quite serious.

By si bol ešte o kúsok väčší frajer keby si citoval celú vetu z toho článku v Nature:

"Using the aligned genome sequences of 2019-nCoV, RaTG13, SARS-Cov2 and previously reported bat SARSr-CoVs, no evidence for recombination events was detected in the genome of 2019-nCoV. "

Tá veta, ktorú si vytrhol z kontextu a následne okresal, hovorí že 2019-nCoV nerekombionoval s ničím doposiaľ známym z netopierov. Isto neuniklo tvojmu pozornému oku, že v tom tvojom "šupa článku" izolovali vírus dovtedy neznámy z úplne iného zvieraťa. (len tak medzi rečou, pangolin je šupinavec a nie pásavec (pásavec je armadillo)). Zhou et al. určite nechceli povedať, že SARS-Cov2 nikdy nerekombinoval s ničím. To by museli byť naozaj idioti, keďže vírusy medzi sebou spontánne rekombinujú v jednom kuse. Koronavírusy jakbysmet (vid napr https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0966842X16000718 )

Tak si teraz nie som istý, že kto zverejňuje zavádzajúce informácie.

Key Points

- RaTG13 is the closest available bat virus to SARS-CoV-2; a sub-lineage of these bat viruses is able to infect humans. Two sister lineages of the RaTG13/SARS-CoV-2 lineage infect Malayan pangolins.

- The sarbecoviruses show a pattern of deep recombination events, indicating that there are high levels of co-infection in horseshoe bats and that the viral pool can generate novel allele combinations and substantial genetic diversity; the sarbecoviruses are efficient ‘explorers’ of phenotype space.

- The SARS-CoV-2 lineage is not a recent recombinant, at least not involving any of the bat or pangolin viruses sampled to date.

- Non-recombinant regions of the sarbecoviruses can be identified, allowing for phylogenetic inference and dating to be performed. We constructed three such regions using different methods.

- We estimate that RaTG13 and SARS-CoV-2 diverged 40 to 70 years ago. There is a diverse unsampled reservoir of generalist viruses established in horseshoe bats.

- While an intermediate host responsible for the zoonotic event cannot be ruled out, the relevant evolution for spillover to humans very likely occurred in horseshoe bats.
