In fact, given digital fabrication at scale, the fundamental of stimuli that underlie all economic behavior would be altered quite out of recognition. A command economy seeks to plan ahead of time what things will be needed, and how many of each will be required; a market economy uses prices as signals to determine what should be made and when.
An economy based on personal fabrication would undermine the assumptions to both, by allowing end consumers to fulfill emergent demand more or less directly.

Not the demand for each and every thing, clearly: the process of microchip fabrication, for example is both so toxic so depended on extraordinary stringent standard of clean-room sterility that it’s hard to imagine it ever becoming widely dispersed.
But when the specifications for a useful variety of everyday objects can be downloaded for free, the market for a very great deal of what is now designed, packaged and sold evaporates completely. Significant areas of the economy might stand to be reclaimed for the commons.
