Kashiwa Reysol goalkeeper Kazushige Kirihata was the protagonist of a truly horrible performance, which included a comical blunder which lead to an own-goal, during his side's 3-0 J-League away defeat to Shonan Bellmare. After committing a small mistake for the first goal of the game, the 28-year-old Japanese number one outdid himself when he misjudged the bounce of a back-pass by team-mate Daisuke Suzuki. Instead of taking a few steps back in order to chest the ball down, Kirihata decided to try and clear it away with a header, but he completely missed and the ball sailed over his head and into the back of the goal.
