The 5 most famous areas/quarters (called "KIEZ") in Berlin are:

- Mitte (best to go there S/U Alexanderplatz)
- Friedrichshain (best to go there S/U Warschauer Strasse or U Frankfurter Tor)
- Prenzlauer Berg (best to go there U Eberswalderstrasse)
- Kreuzberg (x-Berg) (best to go there U Schlesisches Tor or Kottbusser Tor)
- Charlottenburg (best to go there S/U Bahnhof Zoo or Kurfürstendamm)

My tip: walk most of the time in each area each area/quater or better take/rent a bike - this is the best way to explore Berlin - But be careful and take the bikelanes... Pedestrians be aware of the Bikelanes!

- Oberbaumbrücke (red bridge with towers to X-Berg) was the former boarder from West/East Berlin
- East-Side-Gallery (Original Berlin Wall just repainted with the original Grafities from 19990
- Beachbars along the Spree near East Side Gallery:
Yaam, Oststrand, Strandgut, Bar 25
- Simon-Dachstrasse and Boxhagner Platz (Center of Fhain): Famous for cool Bars / Cafes and Clubs around
- RAW area and Cassiopeia: Alternative recreation area at the end of the SimonDachstrasse: here you will find clubs: Cassiopeia, Suicide Circus, Astra
A Climbing tower, Open air Cinema, Open Cafe area, Skaterhall, FUn People
- SundaySpecial: Nice Fleemarkets around Boxhagner Platz and the RAW Tempel/Cassiopeia Area.
- Rigaerstrasse: 1 Squad house, 2 Occupied Buildings, Many grafities to find and alternative house projects and nice alternative and cheap bars with interesting people.
(don't be scared - I live there and its not dangerous at all)
- Volkspark Friedrichshain: Big park with many people doing sports, volleyball, barbequeing,...in the evening and weekends

If you go a little bit further East near S Bahn Ostkreuz you can find the Sonntagsstrasse: Nice bars and Cafes

and on the other Side
- "Treptower Park" : a big recreation green area, Biergarten, The River Spree
- In there A BIIIIG Russian War Memorial which is AWESOME! go there :) it looks like out of "Lord of the Rings" its massive...
- You can rent a boat or even a barbeque boat :)

Another club I can recommend after last saturday:
- Ritter Butzke (electro) in Kreuzberg in the Ritterstrasse 24 : Great location! and depending on the DJs great party! near U bahn Moritzplatz

- Club Tubestation in Mitte/Friedrichstrasse: I was there at a special rock event so it was Ok but not sure about this club so far... I think it tries to be posh with house/electro

- Dice Club in Mitte near Alexanderplatz/Alexa shopping centre. Great location, some special events in summer. I have been on a special event so not sure..
