the compact alpine rescue vehicle (CARV) is a transportation concept by young designer mathew hardman. the CARV is designed for rescue situations in alpine areas for both winter and summer. the vehicle uses a steel banded rubber track system on the ground with a cushy air suspension to smooth out the terrain. the concept would use a hybrid diesel engine and feature a unique rear platform for loading patients onto. once onto a stretcher, the patients can be pulled onto the vehicle through a winch system which pulls them up the slopped back end and under the cabin’s awning. the driver is fully enclosed in the front-end of the vehicle enabling them to drive in almost all weather conditions.
