  4. They know how to communicate sympathetically with creative people.
  5. They give credit and recognition.
  6. They take calculated risks.
  7. They provide inspiration in the form of support and encouragement of ideas.
  8. They bolster self-confidence.
  9. They are flexible and have flexible organizations.
  10. They welcome and encourage constructive nonconformity, individuality, and diversity.
  11. They involve creative people in the planning and decision-making process at the earliest possible moment.

vyborny clanok, vystizne vyjadruje ako pomahat kreativnym ludom..

Listen to anyone with an original idea no matter how absurd it might sound at first. Encourage; don't nitpick. Let people run with an idea. Hire good people, and leave them alone. If you put fences around people, you get sheep. Give people the room that they need.

~ Livio DeSimone (ex-CEO of 3M), How to manage creative people

As our business grows, it becomes increasingly necessary to delegate responsibility and to encourage men and women to exercise their initiative. This requires considerable tolerance. Those men and women, to whom we delegate authority and responsibility, if they are good people, are going to want to do their jobs in their own way. Mistakes will be made. But if a person is essentially right, the mistakes he or she makes are not as serious in the long run as the mistakes management will make if it undertakes to tell those in authority exactly how they must do their jobs. Management that is destructively critical when mistakes are made kills initiative. And it's essential that we have many people with initiative if we are to continue to grow.
