anybody skusenosti s GPS on motorka? any advice?...
I'm thinking of going on a longer trip, a rozmislam ze it might come in handy...

Vilo ma ten moto garmin, ale na to je asi dobre mat 12V na motorke, lebo dlho to na baterku nevydrzi.

to je najmensi problem dorobit (hlavne ak mas sikovneho otca ako ja :D)
kupis tu zasuvku aj s kablom - predlzovacku do auta. odcvaknes zastrckovy koniec, prirobis dva take Ypsilonkove koncovky, odtiahnes trochu matice na moto baterii, vsunies, pritiahnes a modlis sa, aby si spravne trafil plus a minus

mozno mas pravdu, ale mam to tam uz nejake 3 tyzdne ak nie viac, pred par dnami som sa vratil z tyzdnovej dovolenky a baterka stale funguje.

dobra baterka, alebo slaby standby : ) / navigaciu si asi nemal v drziaku /
ak je to tak, tak aspon poistku si tam daj. tym nic nepokazis.

jaaaj o tomto hovoris. predsa nikto nebude nechavat navigaciu na zaparkovanej motorke, ci?
samozrejme, ze navigaciu som mal odpojenu.
a nerobil som si ten jednoduchy zakrok sam, takze by som tu poistku nedokazal pridat :D

ak nestaci mapa na batohu na narzi tak potom nieco co dava pekne hlasove pokyny lebo nebudes mat asi moc casu kukat na display pod priamym slnkom...cize jedine na sluchatka...

I've got some experience.
got a Navon gps navigation device and put it on a Hama holder inside a case (also by Hama) - there's holders, too, but not for Navon, so had to use case.
all in all cost me like 35 euros (holder and case) and works just fine.
am using my iphone's headphones connected to the GPS and it works perfectly. you need perhaps 15 minutes to understand how the navigation is navigating, then it's easy. sometimes you check the screen, but that's really just a secondary helper.

I got the first one, becuase the other one would cover too much of the dials. anyway, as mentioned, you're not gonna watch the screen too much, so that's it.

btw, if your helmet enables bluetooth thingies, a navigation with bluetooth connectivity might be better than cable headphones (it's a nuissance when mounting/dismounting the bike, else it's ok. when choosing navigation, it's worth to check how bright the screen is (said other forums, but I don't really know the difference, to be honest. if it's too sunny, you're not gonna see anything anyway).
