slovakiacards.blogspot.com Let's face it. Most of us know only the basic facts about this little but lovely country. Slovakia: The Gathering is a simple and easy method how to simulate the very predictable Slovak politics. StG is a fun game based on worldwide known collectible card game Magic: The Gathering. Most cards are based on real events and personalities - but no offense is intended (unless you are a very, very arrogant politician). The main reason of creating this website is to have fun and a laugh on Slovak politics in a very geeky way. (If you really, really want to play with these cards - check the basic rules link below) Basic pack - artifacts There are a lot of artifacts in the Magic: The Gathering. Slovakia has artifacts of his own - a whole party, the HZDS for instance, with glorious past, but no future. There are also other politicians, personalities or institutions never really belong to any party, in specific cases they belong simultaneously to many sides. These are all considered as artifacts. Basic pack - Black Black is the color of corruption and evil in the card game. The SNS are not obviously evil but due to numerous scandals they can be seen as corrupted a lot. The party's agenda is focusing on the Hungarian minority. The emblematic leader of the SNS, Jan Slota is known for his Hungarophobia, heavy drinking and politically incorrect statements. Basic pack - Red Red is the most agressive color in Magic: The Gathering - a perfect fit for the Smer. Red will symbolize the biggest Slovak party and the leftist ideologies. Robert Fico, the head of party (and Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic) is famous from his aggressive attacks on the media, politicians... well, basically everyone crossing his way. Basic pack - white White is the color of healing, purity, consistency and traditional values. Let's say they will be the hardliner conservatives. They are so dedicated to Christian values such as love and patience, that they managed to fall out with each other and divide their party. Just as in Magic: The Gathering the members of the opposing faction are called 'rebels'. Basic pack - green The Hungarian minority is formally the largest minority living in Slovakia, it comprises nearly ten percent of the population. The Hungarian party, the SMK is in specific situation - they get the vast majority of ethnic votes. The party is fully supported by the ethnic community, it has no real ideology. Basic pack - blue Blue color will mark the Slovak right-wing parties and the Slovak liberals - because of their strong connection. Western orientation/ treason. Privatisation/ organized stealing. Social reforms/ well-prepared genocide. That's all the success/fault of Christian Democrats and liberals. Just choose your sides. credits: id Jclayton |
