An Original Sound
Radio and Television have bombarded us with the same sounds of Beyonce, Kelly Clarkson and Avril Lavigne. While there is nothing wrong with these talented female singers, the time has come for a different sound. This is where Amy Winehouse comes into play. She has a very different sound that is refreshing. It reminds me of jazz singers from decades ago, who were actually talking about something worthwhile.

Music fans can always use a change in tune. This change has been delivered by a British star that has entered the US music industry with a bang. The voice of Amy Winehouse represents originality. It is one reason to love her. A music artist with an original sound can have a long lasting career.

Realistic
An article that I wrote about Mary J. Blige on associated content talked about how she does not exhibit a fake personality. There are not many music artists or celebrities in general that are like that. Any Winehouse is another one of those rare celebrities who shows the world a real human being. She does not deny her problems with alcohol and eating disorders, which makes her more common. In fact, she sings about her personality and conflicts.

This is the second reason to love Amy Winehouse. Publicists may advice their celebrity clients to show the world a character that is not realistic. While this may help to sell records and boost one's public reputation, a fake celebrity does not benefit fans. Children look up to a lot of music artists and are influenced by them. If Amy Winehouse made a song about not drinking and then got arrested for a DUI, that would not match up. That is why Amy Winehouse is a great artist. She is just about as realistic as celebrities come.

Mass Appeal
Amy Winehouse has fans around the world. She has been popular in the United Kingdom before her music was released in America. Upon the release of her latest "Back to Black" album, Amy Winehouse has been performing in U.S. venues to American fans who are also interested in older music released by this singer. Cross-over artists have been able to develop more long lasting careers than singers with local appeal. Madonna, Janet Jackson and many other female artists have fans all over the globe. Amy Winehouse's talent and popularity has made her become someone that music fans can support no matter where they live. This is another reason to love Amy Winehouse.

Collaborative Potential
This female singer has a strong voice that attracts millions of listeners. Amy Winehouse could generate even more public awareness by collaborating with another music artist. It may even expand her American fan base. She has enough talent to make great hit songs with hip-hop and rock artists. The end result would more than likely be something very exciting for both artists and fans alike. Amy Winehouse would be a great candidate for songs with rappers Missy Elliott, Jay-Z or Busta Rhymes.
