Panel dicussion and lectures

1. Differences between historical and modern self-defence. Chairman to be announced. On Sunday at 17 o'clock.
2. Lecture from Chris Dobson about armours and armouring. On Sunday at 16 o'clock.
3. Discussion about rapier tradtions. Chairman Peter Zillinger. On Sunday at 15.30 o'clock.
3.1. Italian School – Comparison of sources: Who is studying which sources, where are the similarities, how are techniques interpreted differently
3.2. Spanish School – Thibault: Who is working on this, how are his techniques interpreted. We demonstrate what we are doing and would very much like to see other fencers’ or groups‘ approaches to this topic
3.3. Sparring: Protective clothing – blades – rules
3.4. Much time for free play with our padded rapiers
3.5. NOTE FROM PETER ZILLINGER: I would prefer the workshop as a moderated discussion rather than a frontal lecture, during which we will try not only to talk about techniques but also to try them out and to compare our interpretations in practice
