With rumors going back and forth regarding Britney Spears's "surprise" performance at the 2007 MTV VMAs this year (some claim that she is doing it for sure, others claim it's still up in the air whether or not she'll do it and still others are convinced that it ain't happening at all) it's hard to determine what is fact and what is fiction. I know that the most successful VMAs in recent years have been the ones that featured a Britney Spears performance when she was at the height of her popularity (I have a hard time deciding which was her most successful performance, in terms of water cooler talk the next morning -- her Oops! I Did It Again strip tease or her Like A Virgin kiss with Madonna). But since her star has fallen a bit I figured it would take a miracle for her to be able to not only perform at the VMAs next month but to do so in spectacular fashion. It appears, tho, that she might not need a miracle ... all she'll need is a little magic.
