The Centre of Documentation & Research on Accidental Water Pollution (CEDRE) is now calculating the pollution that is likely to result, based on the sunken ship’s position. Yesterday, CEDRE pointed out that the cargo of 10,000 tons of phosphoric acid would be dissolved in water and, at low concentration, would not present a threat to the food chain.
