Some 200 workers at Big Orange Handling could go on strike over the salaries paid to Polish workers, the Transport & General Workers Union (T&G) has said.
The ground staff at Luton working for Big Orange, a ground handling joint venture between easyJet and Menzies Aviation, are to vote on strike action over the salaries paid to recently recruited Polish workers. If the decision is affirmative towards a strike, the union members could launch a strike in December, the union said.
T&G has also said that it believes that the company pays Polish workers substantially less than it pays UK workers for the same job, Reuters reported.
easyJet reportedly said that it was not aware of a strike ballot.
