Maradona sees Arsenal win LG Amsterdam Tournament
After a 2-1 win over FC Porto and a 1-0 victory from Boca on Ajax Arsenal has won the seventh LG Amsterdam Tournament. The Gunners' man of the tournament Freddy Ljungberg scored twice in the first match of the evening, while Boca's José Calvo scored the only goal during the second match. The biggest attraction of the evening was, for sure for the photographers, the presence of Diego Armando Maradona. 'El Pibe' (the kid) took his time to get on the picture with many football players, including allmost all the Ajax-players. He was sitting on Boca's bench allmost next to coach Alfio Basile and looked on good shape. After the second match Freddy Ljungberg was chosen man of the Tournament, he received the special Amsterdam Sports Award for his performance. Winner of the LG Amsterdam Tournament is Arsenal (2-9), Porto ended second (2-6), Boca third (2-4) and Ajax fourth (2-0), with extra points given for every goal scored.
