pozoruhodný (pozoruhodne trápny) komentár k Who Is It? videu od Björk: Bjork - "Who Is It" From the album Medulla Many jokes have been made over the years about Bjork being crazy or ultra artistic or just plain out of her mind. We will avoid these descriptions here today in the interest of tolerance. Why must we always label everyone? Why can't we put aside our differences and be brothers? Why the label, 'insane?' So now that we've established Bjork is a normal person just like the rest of us, let's get into the video. Everywoman Bjork is wearing a dressed shaped like a bell with bells attached to it, and is dancing around on a barren moonscape with a bunch of mimes. Her hair is braided in the front and the braids have been glued to her face, encircling her eyes to produce the effect of looking like really large goggles, or some type of deranged raccoon creature. She strokes the small bells on her dress and hands invisible things to the camera, while the mimes ring larger bells and occasionally chime in with some backup vocals. I think if we're all really honest with ourselves, we'll admit we do this kind of thing all the time. The song itself is actually kind of neat, and I mean that in the best possible way. It has an interesting melody, is really pretty happy, and has a cool trance beat that comes in and out. Throughout it all are the bells. It's not on par with her wearing the Swan dress to the Oscars and laying an egg on the red carpet, but she does bust out some horrifying dance moves, with motion akin to Samarra exiting the well in The Ring. It's good to see Bjork finally going mainstream. Fascinating Fact: Bjork videos give David Lynch nightmares. |
