whatever brings you back, file the papers, close the envelopes, turn off your computer
whatever makes you put on your headphones, stroll throught the town, maybe make a phonecall, maybe meet some friends

drink, maybe eat, talk /bullshit/, smile /don`t forget to smile a lot/, have a cigarette, talk some more, another cigarette, smile, touch your hair, bite your mouth, laugh /was witty, wasn`t it?/, cigarette, drink, smile, talk, cigarette, silent, talk, laugh /you have to laugh, weeping ain`t recommended/, tired

whatever makes you sit there
whatever makes you get up and walk away
headphones, nightline or walk, home /at least what you call it/, bed with ancient smell of toothpaste
whatever makes you dream

whatever happend

sometimes some of these whatevers are missing
sometimes whatever makes you do something strange

and still you usually don`t get the slightest idea what this whatever is
at least until it`s too late

the flow is dragging you down, deeper
letting you in sweet unconsciousness
letting you think you know where you`re headed
just occasionally it knocks from behind asking
"do you ride or do you drive?"
clutching the steering wheel...

but i have the drivers licence
just fight the fear
and take my seat
